Orchid Health in Fern Ridge

Orchid Health celebrated its grand opening on the Elmira High School Campus with city and school officials and the Chamber of Commerce on June 17th. Their award-winning health care serves the entire Fern Ridge community.

Since their opening, they have served over 200 residents of Fern Ridge and have partnered with the Fern Ridge School District to offer complimentary services to the entire student body. While on campus at Elmira High School, Orchid Health has done various health events to support the community's wellbeing.

As a certified rural health clinic, we turn no individual away. We accept medicare, medicaid, and nearly all insurance. If an individual does not have the means to pay, we offer a sliding fee discount rate.

Our Services

Our goal is for our patients to feel listened to, have enough time to ask necessary questions, and be able to discuss what’s most important to them with their provider. In order to accomplish this, we offer hour-long initial visits either online or in-person and 30-minute follow-up visits.

Additionally, we understand the need for accessible primary and urgent care when a health concern arises, which is why we offer same-day visits (by appointment) for children and adults, and expedited new patient visits. In order to continuously improve the experience our patients receive, we constantly ask for feedback and involve patients in our decision-making process.

Margaret Franklin

Family Nurse Practitioner

Margaret was born in the Netherlands as the youngest of 8 children. Her family immigrated, by boat, when she was a baby. She had no say in the matter but is glad they came to the US.

She grew up in NW Indiana, went to College in Michigan and then moved to Colorado, California, Oregon, back to CA and now back to OR because Oregon is the best! She lives in Veneta and is looking forward to working with members of her local community.

She and her husband love to camp and kayak and include their children/grandchildren as able. Margaret also enjoys playing the flute and reading.

Tammy O’Guinn

Registered Nurse

Tammy O’Gunn has worked for 25 years in long-term and community-based care. For the past 10 years, she has worked in local acute care. Tammy’s has worked with MWMC, SHUD, and various SNF and CBC facilities for geriatrics, memory care, and behavioral health. Outside of working with Orchid, Tammy does foot care visits with home and bed-bound patients and volunteers with various homeless groups since 2017.

Since starting at Fern Ridge, her main focus has been becoming a member of the Fern Ridge Orchid Community. When Tammy is not working she enjoys gardening, doing home projects, traveling, crafting, thrifting, cooking, and taking walks with her husband and two chihuahuas.

Chelsea Sloanes

Chelsea is from Kauai and specializes in family practice and urgent care.

Your Medical Assistants

As a Medical Assistants are responsible for ensuring the workflow is running efficiently. They help prepare the patient chart for their appointments, draws blood, provides immunizations, and assists the provider during in house procedures.
