We are thrilled to announce a significant expansion of our clinical team at the Hoodland Orchid Clinic. Please join us in welcoming Sara Mitenbuler, DNP, FNP, a seasoned healthcare veteran with over 20 years of experience, to the Mt. Hood community.

As a dedicated Primary Care Provider, Sara brings a wealth of expertise in rural medicine and a holistic approach to family healthcare that aligns perfectly with Orchid Health’s mission of providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Expert Care Rooted in Rural Community Values

Born in Yakima, WA, and raised in rural Michigan and Indiana, Sara Mitenbuler understands the unique challenges and strengths of small-town living. Her extensive career has taken her from the fast-paced medical environments of Washington, D.C., and Portland to the heart of rural Oregon.

This diverse background allows her to provide comprehensive care across the entire lifespan, including:

• Prenatal and Pediatric Care
• Internal Medicine
• Chronic Disease Management

Advanced Clinical Specializations

Sara holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) and is an active member of prestigious organizations such as the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Beyond general primary care, Sara offers specialized clinical interests in:

• Maternal & Child Health: Supporting families through every stage of growth.
• Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Management: Providing evidence-based, compassionate recovery support.
• Mental Health: Expert management of anxiety, depression, and overall emotional well-being.

In addition to her role at the Hoodland Orchid Clinic, Sara serves as an Assistant Professor at the OHSU School of Nursing. Her commitment to the future of healthcare is also evident in her work on an interdisciplinary task force studying the effects of climate change on human health in the Pacific Northwest.

When she isn't at the clinic or teaching the next generation of nurses, Sara fully embraces the Oregon lifestyle. An avid runner, hiker, and camper, she spends her downtime exploring the outdoors with her husband, two children, and their 80-pound "lap dog." Her creative side shines through painting, knitting, cooking, and raising her backyard chickens.
