Orchid Health's Response to Mandatory Evacuation and Air Purifier Distribution
During the week of August 13th, our community faced the challenge of mandatory evacuation head-on. Our dedicated staff went above and beyond, and with support from other Orchid clinics, we made a significant impact.
On the 18th, Rosie, Daisy, and Kathy spearheaded the distribution of air purifiers in partnership with the McKenzie Valley Long Term Recovery Group. This partnership was made possible through Mary Ellen's generous donation of purifiers. Rosie compiled a list of patients with high needs and respiratory issues, ensuring that the most critical cases received immediate attention.
We remained open as an essential business, thanks to negotiations with the fire department and our landlord. Our staff continued to provide crucial care, distribute purifiers to qualified patients, and even accommodate acute cases.
Kristi McKenzie, our Behavioral Health Consultant from Fern Ridge, offered support via telehealth and in person, addressing PTSD and ensuring our community's well-being. We are immensely proud of our team and grateful for the support of other clinics that stepped up during this challenging time. Orchid Health stands strong, committed to serving and protecting our community.

- Produce Plus at Orchid Health: Visit us on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 1-3 pm for fresh and organic produce and other pantry staples.
- Capitol Dental Van: Every first and third Tuesday of the month, Capitol Dental brings their mobile dental van to our clinic to serve Medicaid patients. Call 971-375-3423 to schedule an appointment.
- We Are McKenzie Night- Open House (Oct. 4th): We're excited to participate as volunteers and will have swag and info at our booth!
- McKenzie Valley Wellness Groundbreaking Ceremony (Oct 12th): Join us as we celebrate the groundbreaking of our new clinic with McKenzie Valley Wellness at 1 p.m.
- Women's Health Day with Sara Mitenbuler (Oct. 23rd): Our all-day clinic will offer pap smears, mammogram referrals, and HPV vaccines. Schedule your appointment today to prioritize your health!
- Trunk or Treat (Oct. 27th): Join us for a spooktacular Trunk or Treat event with pumpkin painting, music, treats, and a "Best Trunk" contest. Don your favorite costume, and all are welcome at this free event from 6-9 p.m. at the clinic!
