Bringing Healthy Food to Our Community: Wade Creek Clinic's Monthly Food Distribution

At Orchid Health, we believe that access to food is a cornerstone of our overall health. That's why we're excited to share the success of our monthly Healthy Food Distribution event at the Wade Creek Clinic in Estacada, Oregon. This initiative, in partnership with Trillium Community Health Plan and AntFarm, is a testament to our commitment to supporting the well-being of our community.

Fresh Produce and Local Partnerships

Every third Friday of the month, from 1 PM to 4:30 PM, our clinic transforms into a hub of nutritious goodness. With a generous grant from Trillium Community Health Plan, we're able to provide a variety of healthy foods, including:

• Fresh produce such as cauliflower, kale, dill, and parsley, is sourced from local farms like Quackenbush Farm.
• Bread from AntFarm, a local organization dedicated to community development.
• Meat sourced from Oregon farms, including 101 pounds of ground beef.
• Cheese from Sandy, ensuring our offerings are not only fresh but also locally produced.

A Community Effort

Our food distribution events are more than just about food; they are about community. Last month, we served 148 families, benefiting nearly 500 individuals. This success wouldn't be possible without the help of our dedicated FFA volunteers and our Community Health Workers (CHW). Their hard work and dedication ensure that the event runs smoothly and that everyone in need receives the support they deserve.

Supporting Families with More Than Just Food

In addition to providing food,  we’ve partnered with a local dietitian, to provide recipe guides to help families prepare delicious meals. This initiative not only promotes healthy eating habits but also makes the experience of cooking enjoyable and accessible.
